Even the most basic construction
techniques with the simplest tools
are and
can be
inherently dangerous causing injury, bodily harm,
even death. If you are
not completely comfortable
and aware of all
the standard safety practices
involved with the operation and use
of any tool
(Power or Hand) use a licensed
contractor who is.
Step 1:

Once you have chosen your site,
consider the following:
1. Any wiring such as
switches
and receptacles
on either side of the wall.
2. Any vent pipes, plumbing or
duct work that may
be
hidden in the wall
Step 2:

Locate your wall studs.
This will
determine placement of your niche
Step 3:

Establish
your rough opening height and
width depending on the
outside perimeter
of the back side of your niche.
Mark the
wall and cut out the drywall along the wall
stud, use a level to mark your horizontal
cut lines.
Colorado Niche Company assumes no responsibility
for damage done to
niche or property
by the installer
Step 4:

Dry fit and remove any drywall that
is necessary.
Use caulk or construction
adhesive on
the
edge of the rough opening.
Do not exceed 1/2"
from the cut line
Step 5:

Set your niche and allow the
adhesive to dry
Step 6:

Caulk
in edge of the face frame and wipe
clean with a damp
rag
Please Note: Wine and
magazine racks require screws (included and
pre-drilled)
inside into studs to handle the added
weight and stress
